The Panama Canal is a true engineering wonder, but even more spectacles lie ahead when you cruise from LA aboard the #1 cruise line in the Canal. Stroll along the colorful streets of Cartagena, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and explore Spanish fortresses nearby. Or zipline through Nicaragua’s lush jungles and relish in sweeping views of the region’s untouched landscapes. Of the four, Malibu is the most remote and least urban — head here for surfing and stand-up paddleboarding. Princess Cruises is also planning the return of its 14-day trip to the Hawaiian Islands once Hawaii lifts its COVID-19 travel restrictions.

After many more days at sea, the ship reaches French Polynesia for time ashore at Bora Bora, Moorea and, finally, Papeete, where the ship overnights. Guests might go snorkeling or hike through a tropical valley, and then in the evening, sample culinary specialties from the city's famous "roulettes" (food trucks called caravans). As Carnival Cruise Line's first new ship dedicated to West Coast cruising in two decades, the new, 4,008-passenger Carnival Panorama will begin seven-night Mexican Riviera cruises from the Port of Long Beach in December. This Vista-class ship will sail to Cabo San Lucas, Mazatlán and Puerto Vallarta, with plenty of shore time.
Who better to take guests to the Mexican Riviera than Princess Cruises, which in 1965 became the first major cruise line to operate those voyages from Los Angeles at San Pedro? I'd opt for a week-long round-trip Mexican Riviera sailing on Royal Princess, available this spring and again this fall. Ports of call include Cabo San Lucas, Mazatlán and Puerto Vallarta. Princess operates multiple ships at Los Angeles, but let's just say it's all about that "new car feel" here, as this 3,560-passenger ship is currently undergoing a $16 million revitalization. So, when Royal Princess resumes cruising in March from Los Angeles, travelers onboard will be some of the first to experience the refreshed vessel. If you can, make restaurant reservations online as soon as you can after booking your cruise. If not, get on the ship as early as possible and reserve your table as soon as you get on board. Enjoy your well-deserved vacation and create lasting memories on board one of Carnival Cruise Line’s incredible ships.
Pay Monthly Plan
The amount of the deposit required varies by cruise line, but typically you can expect to shell out a couple hundred dollars per person to reserve a cabin with most major cruise lines. It's based on several factors, including the length of the sailing, the overall cost of the voyage, the type of accommodations booked and whether or not the line is running a promotion. Sometimes, as a booking incentive, lines will waive deposits completely or heavily discount them.

By choosing this payment plan, you can secure your booking without putting a strain on your finances. Next, Klarna will generate a one-time credit card number, which you will use to pay for the cruise. Then on the installment due date, your credit or debit card will be charged according to the plan you had chosen. The payments are automatically deducted on the same day for three consecutive months.
Overview of Carnival Cruises
When it comes to paying for a Carnival cruise, it is important to know the payment policy to ensure a smooth booking process. Generally, payment for a cruise is required in full at the time of booking or within a specified timeframe, which varies depending on the length of the cruise and the date of departure. Carnival Cruise Line accepts various forms of payment, including major credit cards, debit cards, and electronic funds transfers. It is advisable to review the terms and conditions of the specific cruise package to understand the payment requirements and any applicable cancellation fees. For more detailed information on Carnival Cruise payment policy, you can visit their official website at [insert reliable source link]. When it comes to making payments, Carnival Cruise offers multiple convenient methods.

Carnival Cruise has specific cancellation deadlines, and the amount refunded varies depending on the timing of the cancellation. It is crucial to be aware of these policies to avoid any unexpected fees or penalties. The cruise line also offers travel protection plans that can provide additional coverage and flexibility in case of unforeseen circumstances.
Once you have priced out your cruise, click the “Pay K” button on the app and enter the amount you need to pay for your cruise. Disney Cruise Line's fine print states that deposits are determined at the time of booking, so they vary. For most sailings, Carnival requires a deposit of $100 per person for two- to three-day sailings, $150 for four- and five-day sailings and $250 for six- to nine-day sailings. Longer cruises and voyages to Alaska, Europe and the Panama Canal, as well as ocean crossings, require a deposit of $400 per person.
Should You Use a Financing Service Such as Uplift or Klarna to Pay for Your Cruise?
Like many cruise lines these days, Carnival attempts to make the boarding process less chaotic and crowded by assigning cruisers boarding time slots – usually half-hour windows. While you won't be turned away if you turn up late (unless you're so late that embarkation has ended), you won't be allowed in the terminal if you show up early. Book your Carnival sailing with a credit card that earns points, miles or cash back.
In this article, we will guide you through the process of making payments on Carnival Cruise. Whether you’re a first-time cruiser or a seasoned traveler, understanding the payment options available to you can make the booking process more seamless and stress-free. When booking a Carnival Cruise with a payment plan, it is important to be aware of the payment deadlines. Each payment plan has specific deadlines for making payments, and it is essential to adhere to these dates to secure your booking and avoid any cancellations. By planning ahead and keeping track of the payment deadlines, you can ensure a smooth and stress-free payment process. When booking your cruise on the participating cruise line’s website, look for the Uplift option once you get to the pricing or payment page.
The convenience of financing your cruise is certainly enticing, as it allows you to travel when you are short on funds. Even if you have the money, it’s nice to be able to pay in installments and use your available funds for other things. After all, you are traveling on credit, and even if you qualify for 0% financing, you will still need to pay off your cruise by the agreed timeline. Move over QVC – Carnival Cruise Line has launched their own convenient new pay-over-time program to permit guests to pay for their cruise in three “easy” monthly installments. Deposits for Royal Caribbean bookings are generally nonrefundable at any time unless cruisers specifically purchase fully refundable fares.
Klarna has a smaller list of cruise partners for North American users - only Carnival Cruise Lines, Celebrity Cruises, and Royal Caribbean. You do not need to tip above this, though many passengers get confused or add a tip because they're used to always adding one back on land. Tip extra for impressive service if you like, but do not feel compelled to add an additional gratuity above the automatic one. Carnival adds an 18% service charge to your bill whenever you order a drink at a bar or pay for a meal at an extra-charge restaurant. Carnival's comedy shows and musical numbers in the Celebrations Central venues on its newest ships often have more demand than seats available.
For sailings of four nights or fewer, the final payment is due 75 days or more prior to the embarkation date. For five-night voyages and longer, the cruise line must receive all money no fewer than 120 days from sailing. Deposit amounts vary by sailing and the number of people in each cabin for Royal Caribbean bookings. Incremental payments are a better choice if you're unsure whether you can or want to sail but want to lock in an attractive fare or snag a cabin on a new ship or unusual itinerary while you decide. If you pay off your cruise early, you can get your money back (except for certain discounted fares and nonrefundable deposits) should you cancel before the final payment deadline. However, it can be a hassle to go through the refund process and wait for the cruise line to return your funds.
The team also enlists the help of their own culinary team to curate an authentic Caribbean menu for the duration of the sailing, that features dishes and flavors from nearly all Caribbean nations. When we returned to our lives in America we were bombarded with the reality of times. Guests also sampled well-known delicacies, including pigtail bouillon, green fig and saltfish, fish broth, veggie soup, creole bread, and coconut cake. The cruise, with a capacity of over 3000 passengers, departed San Juan on April 9 and will make stops in St. Maarten, Saint Lucia, at St. Thomas. 3500 revelers departed Point Seraphine and took to the John Compton Highway to the sweet sounds of Soca music, played by some of the island’s top deejays along the carnival route. In between the dancing and drinking Olympics (some of what happens on the cruise stays on the cruise), EBONY.com spoke with two of the cruise headliners, comedian Majah Hype and international soca entertainer, Kes of Kes the Band.
Black Maternal Health Week: An OB-GYN Reveals Detrimental Misconceptions Regarding Maternal Mortality
Parties and performances almost 24 hours a day, a comedy show from Majah Hype, and a beach paint party in Ocho Rios, Jamaica. Sleep was profanity, good food was abundant, fun always came first, and people sharing Black joy was dominant. The John Compton Highway was the backdrop for a vibrant parade of bands that will get to sample the local soca artists who will welcome the cruise to their breathtaking destination. In addition, guests will have the opportunity to sample Saint Lucia’s delicious cuisine and vibrant local art, making this a unique and memorable experience. If there were one word or phrase to describe the UberSoca experience, it would be “An Experience Beyond the Music.” While soca music is a big part of what we do, UberSoca Cruise is about much more than just music.
How have leadership’s prior professional and life experiences contributed to Ubersoca’s success?
One of the biggest obstacles in growing our company has been managing the logistics of hosting a large-scale event at sea. We work closely with our partners and vendors to ensure that every aspect of the cruise runs smoothly, from coordinating the music performances to arranging shore excursions. Additionally, we have had to navigate the complexities of operating within the cruise industry, navigating the pandemic, and complying with regulations unique to our business.
Meet The Team Behind The Black-Owned Ubersoca Cruise, A.K.A Carnival At Sea
Although nothing completely prepares you for UberSoca Cruise, our leadership team has backgrounds in law, accounting, risk management, event promotion & planning, and business management. Our collective expertise has been instrumental in shaping the vision and growth of UberSoca Cruise. Additionally, our team is made up of individuals who are deeply connected to Caribbean culture and have a passion for sharing that culture with the world. In 2015, after securing the cruise ship, Nathaniel connected with Bermudian promoter Daniel Reece and Bermudian marketing professional Jodi Lewis. The team remembers having one of its initial meetings and Lewis asking, “What if the ship doesn’t sell?
Xperience Themes by Day & Night
The vibe, connections, and amazing experience we created were second to none, and many of the passengers that took the chance and sailed with us still sail with us today. Soca music has been around for years – since 1970 to be exact – and it’s here to stay. Year after year, it only gets bigger and continues to do its job of making more people who hear it feel like they’re on Cloud 9. Guests experienced the creativity of our Saint Lucian people when the “Taste of Saint Lucia Village” came alive with a jam session that included performances by Saint Lucia’s very own, Ezra, Ricky-T, Dhirv, Surbance, Cooyah, and DYP. Roberts even stated, “I know my songs are great contributions when it gives me a specific feeling. It’s really a feeling that I cannot explain,” while adding that Soca legends like “Machel Montano, Alison Hinds and Destra” inspired her to jump into the lane.
As UberSoca Cruise has grown, we have become more intentional about creating experiences that truly embody the spirit of the Caribbean. We work closely with our partners and vendors to ensure that every aspect of the cruise, from the food to the activities, reflects the culture and energy of the Caribbean. Additionally, we have invested in new technologies and production equipment to enhance the overall guest experience and provide the highest quality entertainment. In fact, the older I’m getting, the more I want to be more in tune with my Caribbean roots. My family are proud Vincentians and my father, who passed in December of 2022, also made it a point to teach me about my Garifuna heritage and Vincy culture.

UberSoca Cruise offers a range of events and experiences that go beyond the typical cruise offerings. In addition to world-class soca music performances from top Caribbean artists, UberSoca Cruise features live concerts, themed parties, pool parties, comedy shows, sports tournaments, cultural experiences, and workshops. Guests can expect to participate in everything from carnival parades, J’ouvert, fitness classes, and mixology workshops to beach parties and masquerade balls. Unlike traditional cruises, UberSoca Cruise also provides an opportunity to connect with like-minded people who share a passion for Caribbean culture and music. Branded as “an experience beyond the music,” the cruise was the perfect excursion from the immediate trauma of the presidential election.
Black Maternal Health Week: Beauty Brands Spread Awareness on the Maternal Care Gap
This cruise was a cumulation of all this and for that, I think I speak for all guests who are proud of their Caribbean heritage when I say we are truly grateful it exists. Spring 2023’s Uber Soca Cruise was most definitely a week I’ll never forget. After taking a few cruises with his family, Nathaniel Turner realized that the programming on cruise ships didn’t necessarily cater to him, or Caribbean culture. Instead, he thought it would be pretty cool to create an experience for Caribbean culture in a cruise format. Fifteen hundred people, including me, left America for a magical experience the day after Donald Trump became the president-elect. We boarded the Norwegian Pearl in the port of Miami for the first ever Uber Soca Cruise, a five-day fete, aka soca party, to Jamaica and back (though many of us seriously considered not returning).
” Turner looked at Lewis and Reece and replied, “The ship sails no matter what, whether it’s full or if it only has the three of us on it.” To date, UberSoca Cruise has completed seven successful sailings. It has taken out over 20,000 people (many first-time cruisers) to Jamaica, Mexico, Turks & Caicos, Haiti, Puerto Rico, St. Maarten, St. Lucia, and St. Thomas. Virgin Islands Department of Tourism understands the power of the music more than anyone, which is why such an incredible celebration takes places at sea. The Caribbean is full of jewels – from its people, paradises, food, tunes, and vibes.
Discover the allure of St. Croix, a Caribbean gem blending natural beauty with a rich and varied colonial history. So much so that St Croix has flown the flags of England, The Netherlands, France, Malta and Denmark. Christiansted to the East features 18th Century butter-colored, red-rooved buildings and quaint stone streets. Frederiksted, its twin city to the west, boast a fortress that once protected the island from pirates and rival nations. Known for it’s gorgeous beaches, would class recreational activities, fine dining, resorts, casinos and golf courses, St Croix provides the perfect landscape for our Jouvert / Beach Party.
So, this invite truly came at a great time when I’ve been feeling this urge to connect more with my Caribbean ancestry. The following year (2017), the team sold out their Cozumel sailing. In 2018, they added an additional sailing, sold out the first, and booked most of the second which took place right after the first. Over 7,000 people from countries including Australia, Kuwait, Poland, France, Sweden, Japan, UK, USA, and the Caribbean— took part in this carefully curated and well-executed Caribbean experience. The team was able to sell out 65% of the ship, but they knew that providing a top-notch experience would be the key to drawing in new passengers, and keeping the returning ones coming back. Our 2016 sailing was, by far, the most difficult and challenging.
It’s about connecting with like-minded people, immersing yourself in Caribbean culture, and creating memories that will last a lifetime. At UberSoca Cruise, we believe in supporting the communities we visit and highlighting the rich cultural heritage of the Caribbean. We work closely with local governments and organizations to ensure our programming includes authentic cultural experiences and initiatives that benefit the local communities. For example, we have partnered with US Virgin Islands and other islands to further their cultural initiatives and objectives and support social causes. The team had locked in bigger ships to allow even more people to take part in the Ubersoca experience. They were also set to sail for 5-days versus the normal 4 to two exotic locations.
The extra space on the two vessels has allowed Silversea to expand its lineup of cabin categories, with more large suites. As is always the case with Silversea ships, every cabin on the ship will be a suite. But Silver Ray and Silver Nova offer new premium aft suites, including a massive 1,324-square-foot complex called the Otium Suite. Like Silver Nova, Silver Ray will be bigger than Silversea's previous ships and feature an unusual, asymmetrical design for its public decks that reorients its key features toward the sides of the ship instead of the center. Whether you're floating in the ship's main pool or dining at its open-air Marquee restaurant, you'll be looking out at the sea (or whatever destination the ship is visiting) like you've never been able to before.
Mein Schiff 7 (TUI Cruises)
With every berth filled, Silver Ray will sail with 728 passengers — the same as Silver Nova and just 132 more than the three earlier Silversea vessels. As we wrote about in our recent first look at Silver Nova, part of what makes this new outward-facing orientation for these ships so magical is that they don't have any structures rising from the starboard sides of their pool decks. Passengers floating in the pools on these ships or lounging on nearby lounge chairs get an unobstructed view of the sea off the starboard side.
Sail from Barcelona
The line has partnered with two-Michelin-starred chef Michel Roux to develop a new menu for the ship's Queens Grill, as well as the Golden Lion pub. The ship will also have a new restaurant with outdoor dining, Tramonto, with a Mediterranean-inspired menu. Within river crusing, AmaWaterways is expanding not only the number of its ships, but adding a brand-new destination.

Immerse yourself in the magic of Agrabah with the ship’s signature character, Aladdin. Queen Anne will have Cunard’s first female captain, Captain Inger Klein Thorhauge. Culinary delights await at six vibrant restaurants, from Asia to the Mediterranean, France and beyond — all the culinary hotspots of our mouth-watering world are represented. Imagine unwinding in an indoor conservatory pool beneath a retractable roof in the Caribbean sun, a haven of tranquillity. Outside, revel in the embrace of three more pools, one exclusively for adults, or hide in one of 64 private cabanas strategically scattered around the ship. Elevate your shopping experience at sea with an industry-leading selection, including a bespoke Rolex boutique. This is more than just a cruise ship; this is a floating temple dedicated to spiritual, physical and emotional luxury.

This stateroom includes all the amenities of an interior room and the added benefit of ocean views that bring an airy openness to the space.
Be Spellbound on Sun Princess
There will be plenty of bells and whistles expected of these brands, including restaurants from top chefs, but also a few features new to the industry (think glass domes on the hull). Some are sister ships to those already on the waters, but with enough points of difference to feel like something entirely new—including the soon-to-be-sailing largest ship in the world, from Royal Caribbean, of course. It’s a special one too, as no other cruise line offers guests the chance to set sail up Colombia’s Magdalena River. Join 60 guests on AmaMagdalena as she sails for seven days from Cartagena, heading inland towards Colombia’s verdant heart, before docking in Barranquilla on the scorching Caribbean coast. Against a backdrop of incredible scenery, guests will be able to enjoy local cuisine and spot endemic wildlife from the signature comfort of an AmaWaterways ship. The spacious amenity-filled staterooms and suites are between 237 and 516 ft² and all feature AmaWaterways’ signature twin balcony design, with both a French balcony and an outside balcony.
New River Cruise Ships for 2024
There are nine different restaurants onboard, all of which focus on healthy and delicious menus which are crafted using locally-sourced food from the ship’s destinations. Other new features include a new Asian and sushi restaurant, and a new smoke-free casino with an attached dance club. A previous feature on the cruise line’s ships, the Champagner Treff Champagne bar, gets a new look for better views.
Many of these cabin categories are family-friendly rooms that sleep four guests; some can accommodate six or eight guests. In total, 313 cabins and suites are listed specifically as family-focused accommodations, though many regular room types can sleep more than two people. Avalon is bringing its style of river cruise ship to Portugal's Douro River in 2024, with the 102-passenger Avalon Alegria. The ship will have Avalon's signature Panorama Suites, where the bed faces the river. A new immersive restaurant, centered around the concept of being on a train, is being developed.
And with so many lines introducing new ships, that also means you have the ability to find a ship that offers what you’re looking for. Whether you’re the type that wants an entire waterpark on your cruise ship (yes, that’s coming in 2024) or you want an ultra-luxury ship unlike anything else at sea, then the coming year has new options you’ll want to know about. The entertainment offerings on board the Sun Princess are just as innovative and thoughtfully designed as the ship itself.
But they're far from being the only major new cruise vessels arriving during the next 12 months. The new ships from Cunard and Princess Cruises will both feature notable updated designs for the brands, with an expanded lineup of restaurants, bars and entertainment areas. Viking's ocean ships have been reliably similar since the company started launching them in 2015.
Like Disney Wish, Disney Treasure is part of Disney's new Triton Class of vessels, and it'll share many of the same features and layout as its older sister. Disney has announced quite a few major changes for Disney Treasure, including the addition of an all-new Mexican restaurant called Plaza de Coco that is themed around the events of the "Coco" movie. Even the smallest cabins on Silver Ray will measure at least 357 square feet, which is unusually large for a cruise ship cabin. Wellness-focused areas will include a new-for-the-line, glass-enclosed Wellness Studio at the top of the ship that will offer classes in yoga, pilates, Zumba and line dancing during the day and ballroom dancing classes at sunset. Queen Anne, notably, will embrace the latest trends of travel and cruising in a way that Cunard ships haven't done before, including a new focus on choice in dining and entertainment, wellness and onboard celebrations.
Three Holland America Group brands -- and their cruise tours -- are affected. Among standout aquatic attractions, travelers can enjoy a total of six waterslides, seven pools, and nine whirlpools, along with the splashy Surfside neighborhood, watery AquaDome’s AquaTheater, icy Absolute Zero arena, and much more. Its latest iteration with Seven Seas Grandeur is pushing the bar even higher. A massive center pool area, a glass-covered Sea-View Terrace with lots of sun and sweeping views, and even a two-story spa. In short, if you get bored on a ship like this, then that’s your fault — especially given that you’re only going to be aboard a few days.
Sun Princess will also be the first Princess ship with suites that come with exclusive access to a private restaurant, lounge and sun deck — a sign Princess is finally getting serious about pampering its best customers. Under development for more than six years and the first of an all-new series of vessels for the line, the 4,000-passenger Sun Princess is about 21% bigger than the biggest ships currently in the Princess fleet. And yet, while it's 21% bigger, it's designed to hold just 17% more passengers. The development of ships on the scale of Carnival Jubilee and its sisters has been a big deal for Carnival. Until recently, the line had resisted the trend among major brands to build even bigger vessels that offer a supersized megaresort-at-sea experience. All three vessels — Icon of the Seas, Queen Anne and Sun Princess — are the three new cruise ships for 2024 that have us the most excited here at TPG.
Icon of the Seas is just one of two major new Royal Caribbean cruise ships arriving in 2024. Also on the way is Utopia of the Seas, the sixth and final vessel in the line's hugely successful Oasis Class of ships. Following the Explora I, the Explora II is set to become Explora Journey’s second ultra-luxury ship. Under construction at the Fincantieri shipyard in Italy, the 922-guest will kick off its inaugural season in the Mediterranean on August 11, 2024.
The triple camera lenses are incredible and allow me to edit photos in real-time as well. These stacks make the perfect backdrop to show off your favorite food or Disney merchandise. Sure, the sunsets and sunrises help lead to great lighting on a Disney Cruise. But you’ll also find magical photo opportunities inside the ship as well. I realize a cruise is for relaxing, but try to wake up early at least one morning to watch the sunrise.

When you first board Disney Wish, you'll be welcomed by cast members (Disney's term for crew and other employees) with a booming announcement as you step into the Grand Hall. It's a sweeping three-deck Cinderella-themed atrium with a stage area, balconies and bejeweled staircases. There's also a bronze sculpture of Cinderella herself and a chandelier that was constructed to look like an upside-down version of her twirling dress. As you can see in our first-look array of Disney Wish photos below, it's a vessel heavy on technology, as well as magic. Embarking on a cruise offers a delightful escape, where worries melt away amidst breathtaking views and exhilarating experiences. However, amidst the allure of the open seas, one question persists: how much do drinks cost on cruises?
Cruise lines offer a range of beverage packages and individual drink pricing options, catering to diverse preferences and budgets. Understanding these costs is crucial for planning a worry-free vacation, ensuring you can sip and savor without unexpected expenses.
The cost of drinks on cruises can vary significantly depending on the cruise line, ship, and specific beverage. Some cruise lines, like Royal Caribbean and Carnival, offer all-inclusive beverage packages that cover most alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks for a flat fee. Other cruise lines, such as Norwegian Cruise Line and Disney Cruise Line, have more flexible options, allowing you to purchase individual drinks or choose from tiered beverage packages with varying levels of coverage.
If you're a discerning drinker with a taste for premium spirits, fine wines, or craft beers, be prepared to pay a bit more. These beverages are typically not included in the standard beverage packages and may be priced individually.
For those who prefer to indulge in moderation, individual drink prices can provide a more cost-effective option. Soft drinks, juices, and bottled water are generally priced around $2-$4, while cocktails and beer range from $8-$12. You may also encounter a service charge or gratuity added to your bill, typically around 15-20%.
In summary, the cost of drinks on cruises varies depending on the cruise line, ship, and beverage choice. All-inclusive packages offer convenience and value for those who plan on indulging, while individual drink pricing provides flexibility and cost savings for moderate drinkers. All-inclusive drinks packages
Many cruise lines offer all-inclusive drinks packages that cover most alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages for a flat fee. This can be a great value if you plan on consuming a lot of drinks during your cruise. However, it's important to do the math and make sure that the package is actually a good deal for you. To do this, estimate how many drinks you will consume each day and then multiply that number by the per-drink price. If the total cost of your estimated drinks is less than the cost of the package, then the package is not a good value for you.
Another thing to keep in mind is that all-inclusive drinks packages typically do not cover premium drinks, such as top-shelf liquors and fine wines. If you enjoy drinking these types of beverages, you will need to factor in the additional cost when budgeting for your cruise.
Finally, it's important to read the terms and conditions of the all-inclusive drinks package carefully before you purchase it. Some packages may have blackout periods or other restrictions. For example, some packages may not cover drinks that are ordered during room service or in certain venues.
If you're not sure whether an all-inclusive drinks package is right for you, talk to your travel agent or the cruise line directly. They can help you assess your drinking habits and determine whether the package is a good value for you.
Individual drink prices vary
If you choose not to purchase an all-inclusive drinks package, you will be charged for each individual drink that you order. Drink prices on cruise ships vary depending on the type of drink, the venue, and the cruise line. However, you can expect to pay around $5-$10 for a beer, $7-$12 for a cocktail, and $3-$5 for a soft drink.
Some cruise lines offer drink specials and promotions throughout the day. For example, you may be able to get a discount on drinks during happy hour or on certain days of the week. It's also worth checking the cruise line's website or app for any current drink specials.
If you're on a budget, there are a few ways to save money on individual drink prices. First, avoid ordering drinks in the main dining room or other formal venues. Drinks in these venues are typically more expensive than drinks ordered in the bars or lounges.
Second, take advantage of any drink specials or promotions that the cruise line offers. Finally, consider bringing your own drinks on board. Most cruise lines allow passengers to bring a limited number of cans or bottles of beer, wine, and soda on board. However, it's important to check the cruise line's policy before you do so.
Premium drinks cost more
If you enjoy drinking premium drinks, such as top-shelf liquors and fine wines, you will need to factor in the additional cost when budgeting for your cruise. Premium drinks are typically not included in all-inclusive drinks packages, and they can be significantly more expensive than standard drinks.
Top-shelf liquors
Top-shelf liquors are typically more expensive than well liquors. This is because they are made with higher-quality ingredients and are often aged for longer.
Fine wines
Fine wines are also typically more expensive than house wines. This is because they are made with higher-quality grapes and are often produced in smaller batches.
Specialty cocktails
Specialty cocktails are often made with premium ingredients, such as fresh juices, herbs, and spices. This can drive up the cost of the cocktail.
Champagne and sparkling wine
Champagne and sparkling wine are always more expensive than beer and wine. This is because they are made with a more labor-intensive process.
If you are on a budget, there are a few ways to save money on premium drinks. First, consider ordering premium drinks during happy hour or other promotional periods. Second, ask the bartender if there are any cheaper alternatives to your favorite premium drink. Finally, consider bringing your own premium drinks on board. Most cruise lines allow passengers to bring a limited number of bottles of wine and spirits on board. However, it's important to check the cruise line's policy before you do so.
Service charge or gratuity added
In addition to the cost of the drink itself, you may also be charged a service charge or gratuity. This is a common practice on cruise ships, and it is typically added to your bill automatically. The service charge is usually around 15-20%, and it is intended to compensate the bartender or server for their service.
Check your bill carefully
Before you pay your bill, be sure to check it carefully to make sure that the service charge has been added correctly. If you believe that the service charge is incorrect, you can ask the bartender or server to adjust it.
You can choose to add an additional tip
If you are satisfied with the service that you received, you can choose to add an additional tip on top of the service charge. This is not required, but it is a way to show your appreciation for good service.
Some cruise lines allow you to prepay gratuities
Some cruise lines allow you to prepay your gratuities before you sail. This can be a convenient way to budget for your cruise and avoid having to worry about tipping each time you order a drink.
Service charges may be different in different venues
The service charge may be different in different venues on the ship. For example, the service charge in the main dining room may be higher than the service charge in the bars or lounges.
It is important to factor in the cost of the service charge when budgeting for your cruise. This will help you avoid any unpleasant surprises when you receive your bill.
Budget for drinks before cruise
One of the best ways to avoid overspending on drinks on your cruise is to budget for them before you sail. This will help you stay within your budget and avoid any unpleasant surprises when you receive your bill.
Estimate how much you will spend on drinks each day
To budget for drinks, start by estimating how much you will spend on drinks each day. Consider your drinking habits and the prices of drinks on the cruise ship. Once you have a daily budget, multiply it by the number of days that you will be on the cruise.
Factor in the cost of service charges and gratuities
When budgeting for drinks, be sure to factor in the cost of service charges and gratuities. These charges can add up, so it is important to include them in your budget.
Consider purchasing an all-inclusive drinks package
If you plan on drinking a lot of alcohol during your cruise, you may want to consider purchasing an all-inclusive drinks package. These packages typically cover most alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages for a flat fee. While these packages can be expensive, they can save you money if you plan on consuming a lot of drinks.
Bring your own drinks on board
If you are on a budget, you may want to consider bringing your own drinks on board. Most cruise lines allow passengers to bring a limited number of cans or bottles of beer, wine, and soda on board. However, it is important to check the cruise line's policy before you do so.
By following these tips, you can budget for drinks before your cruise and avoid any unpleasant surprises when you receive your bill.
Research cruise line beverage options
Before you book your cruise, take some time to research the beverage options offered by different cruise lines. This will help you choose a cruise line that offers the types of drinks that you enjoy at a price that you can afford.
Check the cruise line's website
The cruise line's website will typically have a section dedicated to food and beverage options. This section should provide information on the types of drinks that are available, as well as the prices.
Read reviews from other cruisers
Online cruise reviews can be a great source of information about the beverage options on different cruise lines. Look for reviews that mention the quality and variety of drinks, as well as the prices.
Contact the cruise line directly
If you have any specific questions about the beverage options on a particular cruise line, you can contact the cruise line directly. The cruise line's customer service representatives should be able to answer your questions and provide you with more information.
Consider your drinking habits
When researching cruise line beverage options, it is important to consider your own drinking habits. If you are a heavy drinker, you may want to choose a cruise line that offers an all-inclusive drinks package. If you are a moderate drinker, you may be able to get away with purchasing individual drinks.
By researching cruise line beverage options before you book your cruise, you can make sure that you choose a cruise line that offers the types of drinks that you enjoy at a price that you can afford.
Consider drink specials and promotions
Many cruise lines offer drink specials and promotions throughout the day. These specials can help you save money on drinks, so it is worth taking advantage of them whenever possible.
Happy hour

Drink of the day

By taking advantage of drink specials and promotions, you can save money on drinks during your cruise. Be sure to ask your bartender or server about any current specials or promotions.
Bring your own drinks (check policy)
If you are on a budget, you may want to consider bringing your own drinks on board. Most cruise lines allow passengers to bring a limited number of cans or bottles of beer, wine, and soda on board. However, it is important to check the cruise line's policy before you do so.
Some cruise lines have strict policies about bringing alcohol on board. For example, some cruise lines only allow passengers to bring a limited number of cans or bottles of beer and wine on board. Other cruise lines do not allow passengers to bring any alcohol on board at all.
